Eligibility Criteria of ITBP Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification: Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognized Board.
Sports Qualification – Required for ITBP Recruitment:
- Players who have participated or won medal(s) in International Level Competitions like Olympics, World Cup, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games etc., OR
- Players who have won medal(s) in National Games/Championships – Senior/Junior/ Youth level, OR
- Players who have represented State/University in National Level competitions, OR
- Players who have represented Inter-University / All India Inter-University tournaments.
Individual event performance will be given preference in ITBP Recruitment. Team event players must have played at recognized national/international level.
Age Limit: 18 to 23 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-11-2002 and later than 01-11-2008.

Selection Process of ITBP Recruitment 2026
Selection for ITBP Recruitment will be done in following stages:
Stage 1 – Documentation and Verification of Sports Achievements: All certificates will be verified from original documents and sports federations.
Stage 2 – Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, Chest and Weight measurement.
Stage 3 – Trial Test (Sports Proficiency Test): Practical trial of respective sports discipline by Board of Officers – 100 marks.
Stage 4 – Medical Examination (DME): Detailed Medical Examination at ITBP hospitals.
Stage 5 – Review Medical Examination (RME): If declared unfit in DME, candidate can apply for RME within 15 days.
Final merit list for ITBP Recruitment will be prepared based on marks obtained in Trial Test and preference will be given to higher level sports achievements (International > National > State).
