What is ADRE 3.0? Understanding the Recruitment

The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination is a combined recruitment examination. Earlier, each department of the Assam Government used to publish separate advertisements for Grade-III and Grade-IV posts. This created a lot of confusion, overlapping of examinations and a huge financial burden on the candidates.

To solve this problem, the Government of Assam introduced a single, centralized recruitment system – ADRE. Under this system, the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) collects all vacant posts of Grade-III and Grade-IV from all departments and conducts a single examination.

The first edition, ADRE 1.0, was introduced to streamline this process. After the success of ADRE 1.0, ADRE 2.0 was conducted with improved processes like combined registration, no application fee, and a single platform. Now, ADRE 3.0 will be the third edition with even better facilities and a more transparent selection process.

The main aim of ADRE 3.0 is to provide employment to the educated unemployed youth of Assam in a fair and merit-based manner. The entire process – from application to appointment – is conducted in a very transparent way.

ADRE 3.0 Post Details – Grade-III and Grade-IV

ADRE 3.0 will include both Grade-III and Grade-IV posts. The detailed classification is given below.

The total number of posts for ADRE 3.0 will be notified with the official notification. But it is expected to be more than 20,000 posts as per previous announcements.

ADRE 3.0 Educational Qualification – Detailed Post Wise

Educational qualification is the most important part of ADRE 3.0 eligibility. Since it is a combined examination for many posts, the qualification varies from post to post. The Government of Assam has divided the posts according to educational qualification. You must apply according to your highest qualification.

For Grade-III Vacancies – ADRE 3.0 Qualification

In ADRE, there are three types of vacancies under the Grade-III category. The detailed qualification is as follows:

A. Bachelor Degree Level Vacancies

For Bachelor Degree level, there are four sub-categories based on computer and other certificates. The details are shown in the table below.

B. HSSLC (Class XII) Level Vacancies

For HSSLC level, there are two types of educational qualification-wise vacancies.

C. HSLC (Class X) Level Vacancies for Driver Posts

For Grade-IV Vacancies – ADRE 3.0 Qualification

In ADRE, there are three types of vacancies under the Grade-IV category. The details are given below.

Important Note for Grade-IV: The maximum allowed educational qualification for Grade-IV vacancies is HSSLC (Class XII) or equivalent examination. Candidates having qualifications higher than the maximum qualification are not eligible to apply for ADRE Grade-IV vacancies. This means if you are a graduate, you cannot apply for Grade-IV posts. This rule was introduced to provide opportunity to less educated candidates.

ADRE Vacancy Details – Previous Editions vs ADRE 3.0 Expected

To understand the scale of ADRE 3.0, you should look at the previous editions’ vacancies. The Government of Assam has always increased the number of posts.

ADRE 3.0 Age Limit – Complete Details

In the first edition of ADRE, the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) levied the application fee for the examination. But in the second edition, it was waived off completely, and without any fees, applications were accepted from all candidates. This was a great relief for poor and economically weaker candidates.

For ADRE 3.0, there is a high possibility that there will be no application fee, just like ADRE 2.0. The Government of Assam has been promoting free application for all government jobs to help unemployed youth. But the final decision will be confirmed only after the official notification.
