What is CMAAA 3.0?
CMAAA means Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan. It is a flagship scheme of Government of Assam to make youth of Assam self-dependent.
The main aim of this scheme is to provide financial support to unemployed youth so that they can start their own business, shop, farming, dairy, poultry, fishery, manufacturing unit, service center, or any income-generating activity.
Under CMAAA 1.0 and CMAAA 2.0, the government selected 82,219 youths and gave them money. On 17 September 2026, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed more than ₹278 crore to those selected entrepreneurs in a big function.
Now the government has announced CMAAA 3.0 for 2027. In this third edition, total 50,000 unemployed youths will be selected. This is the biggest edition till now.
The specialty of CMAAA is that you do not need to return full money. 50% of the amount is grant – means free money from government, you do not need to return. And 50% is interest-free loan – means you have to return only half amount, that too without any interest. This loan has to be repaid in easy installments after your business starts earning.
